New parking restrictions around Prenton Prep

Success for Oxton councillors' campaign

Parking has become an increasing nightmare for residents in Mount Pleasant and Poplar Road at school drop-off and pick-up time - but finally something has been done about it.

Last summer, Oxton Lib Dems consulted residents about plans to introduce new parking restrictions and these are now in place.

Residents' driveways have been protected with white H-bars. Double yellow lines have been painted on the Mount Pleasant / Poplar Road corner and at the junction of Roslin Road and Rose Mount.

In addition, single yellow lines extend along a section of Mount Pleasant, with parking forbidden jist at school drop-off and pick-up times.

Councillor Allan Brame welcomes the move but says it will be important to ensure the new restrictions are enforced.

"I was in touch with the Council's enforcement team just last week and was assured that this are will be included in the areas patrolled by enforcement officers."
