John retired as a civil servant in 2018.
He continues to be involved in the Wirral Transport Museum and the restoration of St James's church in New Brighton.
John is a keen cyclist and walker with an interest in road safety and campaigns for improvements in public transport especially because of the slow response to installing public electric vehicle charging points.
As a long-standing Wallasey resident John is also concerned about the effect of climate change. We shall leave a sad legacy to our future generations with the probability of rising sea levels which would flood large parts of the borough if we do not act decisively to enact COP26 decisions. This should include councils being adequately funded to assist with the roll out of ground source heat pumps and thermal efficiency. This is an essential requirement in times of high inflation.
