Damning report on Wirral's service for Special Needs children

An OFSTED report into Wirral's provision for children with special educational needs reveals appalling failures.

It says that many families have been completely let down. Educational Health and Care plans are poorly written and often not completed on time.

Parental dissatisfaction with the service leads to a high level of complaints and unnecessary and expensive tribunals.

Councillor Chris Carubia, Lib Dem spokesman for Children's Services, said the report amounts to "a litany of failure."
