Great result for our newest Councillor

Congratulations to Dr Orod Osanlou who Orod Osanlou at Oxton Fieldssucessfully held our seat in the Oxton by-election with a big majority. And a huge thank you to those who helped in such a successful campaign.

Once again we have three LibDem councillors serving Oxton with Dr Orod Osanlou becoming Oxton's newest councillor.

Andy Corkill, who will be sadly missed, had a good lead over our nearest rival in the ward (a margin of more than 31 per cent over Labour in May's vote in Oxton). This lead has been built on by Orod, stretching the Lib Dem lead over the nearest rival, Labour, to almost 50 per cent.

Speaking after his announced victory : "I would like to thank the people of Oxton for once again showing faith in the Liberal Democrats.

"As a team we will fight for you and be your voice on the council.

"Please do get in touch with us if you have any local issues that we can assist you with."

Oxton by-election result: Dr Orod Osanlou (Liberal Democrats) 1,666 (68%) Sue Mahoney (Labour) 460 (19%) Philip Merry (Conservative) 168 (7%) Rachel Heydon (Green) 147 (6%)
