    Wallasey Town HallWIRRAL'S special needs support services are 'broken', with families feeling 'overlooked and ignored' when they ask for help, according to an Ofsted report.

    The document, prepared after an inspection into Wirral's SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disability) support services by both Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspectors revealed huge problems which are pushing families to the limit emotionally, financially and physically.

    The water companies continue to legally pollute UK waters, exposing to harm all-water users, as well as our delicate Ocean ecosystems.

    As I write I don't know what sort of Christmas awaits us as Omicron sets new records of infection with Covid19, but I very much hope that we will all be able to spend the holiday period in the company of those we love, doing things that we have chosen to do, in places we have chosen to be.

    Buoyed by Helen Morgan's stunning by-election success in North Shropshire, I look forward optimistically to the New Year, when circumstances and government must surely improve. As Liberal Democrats, we will certainly continue to work hard to push in that direction.

    Liberal Democrats won a stunning victory in North Shropshire, taking one of the Conservatives' safest seats.

    Liberal Democrat candidate Helen Morgan received 17,957 votes, representing a swing of 34% from the Conservatives and giving her a majority of 5,925.

    North Shropshire was the 58th safest Conservative seat in the country, with former Conservative MP Owen Paterson having a majority of almost 23,000 votes in 2019. This represents the second biggest majority overcome in a modern by-election, after Christchurch in 1993.

    As the Tories go into meltdown over their Christmas non-party, bookies have made Lib Dem Helen Morgan the narrow favourite to win the North Shropshire by-election.

    Having started in third place in the race to replace Owen Patterson, a dynamic by-election campaign has quickly seen us leapfrog Labour and we have been steadily closing the gap of the Tory's barrister from Birmingham, helped by growing anger at Boris Johnson.
